Quarita Futrell: Beauty Industry Professional, Philanthropist, and Advocate for Mental Wellness in Community Spaces

Transforming Beauty Spaces into Healing Spaces for Inner and Outer Wellness

Baltimore – Quarita Futrell, a beauty industry professional turned philanthropist, is leveraging her expertise to bridge the gap between beauty and wellness, promoting mental health and self-care within the beauty industry. As the sponsor of the Power Brunch: Financial Reboot, she convened beauty professionals to discuss how their spaces can support mental wellness. She believes that beauty professionals are the “therapists” clients most willingly confide in, and she empowers them to play an essential role in supporting clients’ mental health and wellness.

A committed leader within her church community, Quarita has served as an active member of Manasseh Ministries for the past three years, where she leads weekly prayer sessions, facilitates group discussions, and stands as a pillar in the ministry. Her leadership in Manasseh Ministries reinforces her mission to support both inner and outer transformation for individuals in her community.

As the founder of On The RUNNN, Quarita Futrell’s impact extends far beyond traditional beauty services. This DMV-based salon is renowned by curlies and naturalistas around the globe as a destination for transformation, specializing in everything from vibrant color services to restoring lifeless hair for all textures and lengths. With training from London’s Vidal Sassoon Academy, certification as a Deva Curl specialist, and experience as a former Bumble & Bumble network educator, Quarita’s integrated approach to hair design attracts high-profile clients, including celebrities and corporate executives.

On The RUNNN has expanded to include Girl Next Door Hair, a line of trendy hair design wardrobes and customizations, bringing clients an innovative blend of style and premium care. Quarita’s business reflects her philanthropic heart, partnering with nonprofit organizations to provide hair services for survivors of domestic violence and those facing cancer, ensuring they receive moments of self-care and dignity during their journeys.

Quarita’s dedication to transforming lives and integrating wellness into beauty aligns with her involvement as a speaker at the upcoming retreat by Causing to Forget. She will lead the Opening Service, guiding attendees through a powerful praise and worship session, followed by prayer and an inspiring message. This impactful opening reflects her commitment to helping participants experience personal transformation, setting the tone for a retreat of spiritual growth and healing.
