MENTAL HEALTH + MENTORSHIP: THE 2ND & 3RD LIFE CAREER PROGRAM PROVIDES WHOLE-PERSON SUPPORT FOR NEW CAREER PATHWAYS

Baltimore, MD – May 23, 2025 – In a job market still healing from economic disruptions and life-altering transitions, Causing to Forget’s 2nd & 3rd Life Career Program is redefining how career development should look—starting with the mind and heart. Through the unique integration of mental health support and one-on-one mentorship, the program helps participants not only prepare for new careers but also rebuild their confidence, resilience, and self-worth along the way.

The program serves individuals—especially women and those who have experienced long-term unemployment—who are ready to re-enter the workforce after significant life challenges. For many, those challenges include trauma, burnout, depression, or anxiety, all of which can create invisible barriers to professional progress. The 2nd & 3rd Life Career Program addresses these issues head-on.

Why Mental Health Matters in Workforce Development

Improves Focus and Learning – When mental health is addressed, participants are more prepared to absorb training and retain new skills.
Builds Confidence – Emotional support helps individuals move past shame and doubt tied to employment gaps or personal hardships.
Reduces Dropout Rates – Ongoing mentorship and counseling improve consistency and program completion rates.
Creates Lasting Change – Career success becomes sustainable when it’s built on emotional healing and inner stability.

How the Program Works

Participants in the 2nd & 3rd Life Career Program receive:

  • Mental Health Counseling from licensed professionals to support emotional healing and long-term wellness
  • One-on-One Mentorship with experienced leaders who guide them through personal and professional growth
  • Customized Career Training including resume building, skill development, and certification programs
  • Workplace Readiness Tools covering confidence-building, communication, and stress management

“We can’t expect people to succeed at work if they’re silently suffering in life,” said Yolanda Palmer. “This program creates space for healing while building the tools for economic independence.”

Real Transformation

Graduates of the program have gone on to earn certifications, gain full-time employment, and reunite with family—achievements made possible by addressing their whole person, not just their resume.
